170 bucks and miles away from Home... Literally.

[Mood] Phew! (This aint a story of triumph, but just sheer luck!)

Yesterday, I was utterly penniless. well, almost penniless. This isn't one of those stories wherein you should feel bad for me, since in the first place, it was all my fault. hehehe. I overspent this week. As early as wednesday, I already spent so much (by so much, I mean almost 2x my weekly allowance, and that's only in the span of 3 days). Eh bakit nga ba? eh kasi, nag-IMAX po ako sa SM Mall of Asia nung monday palang. We watched Superman in IMAX.

Although the screen was huge, I wouldn't say I was particularly impressed by the cinema. for one, the place was kinda crapmed. second, the screen didn't look like it was 8 stories high (siguro 8 stories high para sa mga unano). Third, I was just seated 5 rows from the front, so you could see the grainy pixels at the curved ends of the screen. bad bad. the 3D was kinda cool. but got annoying when we had to put on then off then on angain the glasses at parts of the movie. And I thought it was 20 minutes straight 3D. The cinema wasn't particularly pretty. I like the way the cinemas at gateway look. they look better, even compared just to the regular gateway cinemas and not the globe platinum one (that one, i really like. maybe i'll go back there again one of these days).

Ok, so after that, I spent more with food, stuff, and i met my friend for another movie last wednesday at gateway. so to make the story short, I was left with 170 bucks last thursday in UP. But wait, there's more, for those of you who don't know, I already moved out of Katipunan and moved back to Laguna since I only have 15 units this sem. OK, now the dillema: how do i manage with 170 bucks for lunch, and transpo going home? I didnt want to ask more money from my mom since she gave me like so much already (that's why I was able to spend 2 weeks worth of allowance). Nahihiya rin naman ako kahit papaano no?! may konti pa namang hiya sa talampakan ko. hehehe. anyway, luckily, I was so sleepy. So i decided to drop by my friends at the CRS and take a nap there. That solved the problem of lunch. It was also good that I had heavy breakfast that morning. My class ended at 8:30pm. yes, you read that right. my thursday class ends at 8:30. By this time, I was so dead hungry that I had to buy food. But alas, 170 - 7 bucks for jeep transpo to philcoa leaves me with 163 bucks going home. from philcoa, i would need to take a bus to cubao for 10 bucks, then ride another bus going to laguna for 60 bucks, then a trike to our village for 23 bucks. that leaves me with 163 - (10 + 60 + 23) = 70 bucks. Now, that estimate was based on the assumption that I would be able to ride a bus that would take me directly to Laguna. Now the problem was, what if there were no more available buses, and I would have to make shorter trips (that is, bus from cubao to alabang, then from alabang to san pedro). Now that would entail a little bit more. But I was sooo hungry, and my tummy took a mind of its own and rushed to Jollibee. I was able to control it from buying something expensive. and Mr. Tummy settled for a yum burger meal with upsized drink and fries for 71 bucks even though if it originally wanted something with TLC. hehehe.

So, holding my take out of Jollibe from Philcoa, I searched for help from higher powers to help me find a bus going to cubao under the pouring rain (Good thing I always bring an umbrella, and good thing my baby Delta didn't get wet). Got to ride a bus from there to Kamias where I waited for a bus to arrive. Was really crossing my fingers that there would still be a bus that took a direct trip, or I would have been really screwed. Thank goodness, after 5 minutes (and a little bit dizzy by now from hunger while still holding my bag of takeout and my half-a-ton backpack where Delta slept soundly), I was able to get a ride home. But this bus wasn't the regular provincial buses which I regularly take. This one passes Alabang first. For those of you who don't know, I hate passing by Alabang at night because hold-uppers are ramphant in alabang (the downtown, not the village). Anyway, as always, I was precaucious for my Delta. Wala na akong pera para palitan ito no! atsaka nandito yung thesis ko eh. That reminds me, i-back up ko nga sa gmail ko yung thesis ko after this blog. hehehe. well, since the title of this blog isn't "OMG, I got so screwed", you know by know that I got home safely, and was able to stretch my cash. Arrrrggghhh... magtitipid na nga ako... next week. I have to get a haircut pa kasi sa monday and buy a few personal items i need (i think i need, hehehe).

My Delta on my table. I'm back here at home in Laguna:

Though Chain: So how's been delta doing? dirty. but still cute. see the pic above.
